Garlic Fertilization Soak

Soaking garlic with a solution rich in nutrients and beneficial micro-organisms will ensure that it gets a strong start this fall for a bigger harvest.  

 

Garlic is a heavy feeder - meaning it needs a lot of nutrients for maximum production. 

 

We encourage you to order you garlic through the Generous Roots Garden Company to support the work of the Worland Community Garden.

 

This product will make 1+ gallon of fertilizer solution.

 

Instructions:

  1. Soak garlic cloves in a full strength sterilizer for ~10 minutes:
    • Isopropyl Alcohol 70%+  
    • Cheap Vodka  
    • Hydrogen Peroxide 3%+  
  2. Remove garlic from sterilization soak.
  3. Add 1/4 cup of Garlic Fertilization Soak to ~1 gallon of water and let sit for a few hours or overnight (without garlic).
  4. Add garlic cloves and 1 teaspoon of baking soda per gallon of liquid. Let soak for at least 30 minutes (up to 24 hours).
  5. Plant your garlic. Pour soaking solution over the soil, or on other plants. Don't waste it!

Kelp meal, vermicast, and biochar.
