Wool Pellets
If you are struggling with growing food and flowers in Wyoming, our fall soil amendments are the right choice to help solve that problem.
Our Wool Pellets are made from pure Wyoming wool. They are a high quality organic fertilizer for farms, gardens, and house plants. Wool provides nitrogen, potassium, sulfur, micro-nutrients, and most importantly carbon. Wool is the soil super star you have been looking for!
The water holding capacity of wool is what makes it truly unique. Our research shows that wool pellets hold 4 times their weight in water. Adding wool to the soil and flower pots reduces watering frequency and provides a source of slow release organic nutrients.
Pound for pound, it has twice as much carbon as our Blue Collar Compost. Carbon is the primary driver of soil health and wool will help increase microbial activity, water holding capacity, soil tilth, and soil function.
While there is some variability based on the source of wool, the approximate fertilizer value is 8-0-5. That means it has more nitrogen than chicken manure, and it won't burn plants.
Wool can be added to the soil anytime, but for best results, add Wool Pellets in the fall with our Crab + Kelp blend to allow time for microbial decomposition.
Growing food in Wyoming can be tough. Feeding your soil in the fall with our hard-working soil amendments will make it easier.
