Crab + Kelp

Paired with Wool Pellets, Crab + Kelp is one of the fall super-stars in the garden!
 
Crab shell and kelp meal both help support plant life and soil health. Our Crab + Kelp blend  is an excellent source of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, and micro-nutrients.  
 
As with all organic amendments, soil microbes must first convert the nutrients into a plant available form, and microbes need time to work. For best results, apply in the fall with other amendments like wool pellets and compost.
 
Kelp has many well-researched plant stimulating properties and is high in essential micro-nutrients - straight from the sea!
 
Crab shell contains chitin, which stimulates chitinolytic microorganisms in the soil. These microbes enhance nutrient cycling while also suppressing certain chitin-containing pathogens like nematodes and fungi. Chitin also stimulates induced systemic resistance in plants - this is essentially an immune system boost.
